Have you been craving for more out of life lately? Wanting to live a life free from stress and chaos? Wanting to build a life you love?
What does happiness mean to you? How could you build a life you love? What does your dream life look like?
Happiness is not one-size-fits-all! And there’s no cookie-cutter recipe for building a life you love.
Happiness comes from within every one of us. And realizing that you are in control of your happiness is the key to building a life you love.
If you’ve been holding on to the taught that you’re not happy because it’s out of your control, change that thought now.
You are 100% in control of your happiness.
How To Build A Life You Love
Identify what you want in your life
To build a life you love, you must be aware of your dream life. So if I were to ask you right now, what does your desired life look like? What would you say to me?
Think of that question. Journal on it. Visualize your perfect day. What does it mean to you to build a life you love?
For me, it’s being able to feel free and fulfilled. Living a life filled with purpose and being of service to others. Inspiring and educating others to improve their lives. A life filled with people that I love and care deeply for. ( Waking up to my hubby and two kiddos’ smiling faces). Being able to purchase what I want whenever I want them. And being able to do whatever I want and love.
So what does building a beautiful life means to you?
Don’t limit yourself here. Be expansive and list what you want because it is possible to build a life you love.
Remember, you are responsible for your happiness, and it’s always going to be up to you to build a life you love.

Take actions to build a life you love
Now that you are fully aware of the life you want to build. Become intentional with what you do and the actions you will be taking to create the life you want.
What are some actions you need to do right now to build a life you love? Don’t complicate things. This is not a complex process. All you have to do is recognize some of the things preventing you from building a life you love.
Maybe you can stop binging on Netflix and commit an hour to do something you love every day. Think back to your childhood. What did you love doing as a child? Crafts, music, writing, communication, just to give some examples.
Make time to do what you love.
Do you need to remove toxicity from your circle? What are some things you need to improve on or change to make you feel happier?
Listen to your heart and consider those things.
Suppose your home is cluttered with kids’ toys, which makes you overwhelmed. Consider decluttering your home. Go through your house and whatever is not needed, you can either discard or donate.
In Simplicity Parenting, Kim Payne mentions that the profusion of products and items is not just a symptom of excess but a cause of stress, fragmentation, and overload in children.
And I feel as moms; we become stressed and overloaded when there’s too much around.
With each passing day, I admittedly love the minimalist lifestyle more and more.
Look around you and discover actions you can take today to pivot you to living your best life.
You will be impressed when you realize that many times it’s not rocket science, but small changes stack onto each other.
Be willing to get uncomfortable
Staying in your comfort zone will leave you dissatisfied in life.
If you are unwilling to get out of your comfort zone and take a series of actions that will take you closer to your desired life, you will not build a life you love. You are not going to be the happiest person you will ever know.
Achieving your desires will not simply land on your lap by you just daydreaming of it. Yes! It’s great that you visualize your desired life, but what’s equally important is taking inspired actions. And sometimes, these inspired actions may mean making a phone call you are scared of, getting on a zoom call, or taking a different path to the supermarket.
Inspired actions show up in many different ways. Go for it when these actions show up and you have that gut feeling that you need to take action! Don’t allow fear to hold you back. Fear will always creep up when you are getting closer to your desires. Trust the process, and let your instincts guide you.

Seek help from experts in areas you may need support
When we build a life we love, we will need guidance from experts who have been there before. Having a mentor is the best investment you can make when pursuing your desired life.
And if you think well, that’s a bummer! Because I don’t have money to invest in a mentor. My friend, don’t let money be a hurdle.
You have an abundance of resources right around you. This blog is one of them! There are hundreds of podcasters who share free information with you. Search on YouTube for experts in the areas you may need them. Head to Udemy and see if there’s a program that’s right for you.

This is one of my favorite sayings that I always return when things feel complicated.
” Let it be easy.”
Be relentless and consistent when building a life you love
Like everything else in life, creating a life you love will also take time. You can not rush the process.
Be fearless in your pursuit as you design the life you love. Stay consistent and never give up. Along the journey, things will get tough. It will seem not very easy, but always remember to be intentional with your life and trust the process.
One of my mentors always used to say – ” if you do the work. It will work. Put in the work, and you will reap the rewards.”
Don’t give up when things get tough. Keep the momentum, and the motivation will keep flowing.
Be willing to grow and learn
Regardless of where you are in life. Keep learning and always be willing to learn. You will never know or have all the answers. Be brave to ask questions and seek advice from great leaders. Invest in yourself through books and programs and mentorship.
For as long as you live, keep learning. I am committed to learning and growing until the day I die.
Begin to live your dream life
It’s not about being inauthentic or faking it till you make it! But instead stepping into that next best version of you who has already built a life she loves. Ask yourself how you would show up in this world had you already created a life you love.
When making decisions in life, make that decision as if you are already living your desired life. Think from abundance and success, not a place of lack.
For instance, you want to live a sustainable healthy life and maintain a healthy weight. The next time you reach for the 5th cookie, ask yourself would the desired version of myself have that 5th cookie, or would she make a healthier choice.
Start living your dream life today, expecting and knowing it’s already yours.
Express gratification for your dream life
Gratification is everything! Expressing gratification for the things you already have is essential, regardless of how little it may seem to you.
But did you know expressing gratitude for the things you will have in the future is equally important?
Now that you have a clear vision of the life you want to live, express gratification for it as if it has already happened and you are already living your best life.
For example, You see yourself waking up to a calm morning. Your kids are all cooperating. Everyone is enjoying breakfast and is excited to start the day. Express gratification for that future vision as if you are already living it. So in your journal, you may write something along the lines:
” I’m so grateful that we all woke up feeling excited. We had a wonderful conversation over breakfast filled with laughter and joy!”
I love this form of journaling as it often manifests into reality.

Is it possible to build a life I love
It absolutely is possible! You can build a life you love even when everything feels far-fetched.
Yes, some may have had it easier/luck or additional support when building a life they love. But here is the thing! They are not you, and you are not them. And their dream life may not look anything like yours. And what makes them happy may turn you off.
We are unique individuals; hence happiness will look different for us. But your happiness will always be in your hand. You are responsible for your happiness.
Spend some time identifying what you want your dream life to look like. What are the things that make you happy? Become intentional and take small actions and build on these small actions. These actions will pivot you in one way or the other closer to creating a life you love. Stay consistent and never give up on your dreams.

I love this. It’s so important to be intentional with what you want and say it out loud every day to make it happen. I’m trying to be more minimalist too – I find it difficult to throw things away though!
